Q. I've programmed the Setpoint, Gain, Reset, and Rate. The loop is configured as direct acting. The PV is less than the SP but the output stays at 0. Whats wrong?
A1. Make sure the slot dependent V-memory locations are configured for the slot that the F4-16PID is installed in. If you are using slot 0 the V7350 contains the Table Start Address and V7351 is the Number of Loop Enabled. Set these values and power cycle the PLC.
A2. Make sure the Maximum Output Clamp location is not zero. If the Table Start Address is V5000 then V5030 is the Maximum Output Clamp for Loop 1. Normally you will want this value to be 4095.

Q. Do I need the 'PID Commander' DOS software to configure the F4-16PID?
A. No it is not required, any software that can read and write V-memory in the PLC can be used to configure the F4-16PID loops.

Q. How do I use DirectSoft to configure the F4-16PID?
A. This pdf shows how.
