FACTS Extended BASIC FAQs

arrow   FAQ:

Q. I have a new BASIC module and I can't communicate with it, what's wrong?
A1. Verify your cable is wired correctly. The BASIC module uses pin 7 for signal ground. The default command port is port 1. If port1 RXD led does not flash when a key is pressed there is a cable problem or the COM port specified in ABM Commander is wrong.
A2. The module is shipped from the factory in AUTOSTART mode 3, which means that after power up it you must send it a space bar character first thing.

Q. Is the F3-AB128 and AB128-T compatible with the new 350 CPU?
A. No. At this time the 305 basic modules are NOT compatible with the 350 CPU.

Q. How do I read/write data to the PLC CPU?
A. Use the TRANSFER instruction in the BASIC module and ladder Logic in the PLC. The F3-AB-M manual contains details on the TRANSFER instruction and how to use with ladder logic.
